For anyone who’s selling a fresh in the box next-gen console this Xmas Season, I have a favor to ask!
BITE ME.

An open letter to anyone sitting on an unopened console system with hopes to make a few bucks off of desperation this holiday season:
I was driving to work and I saw a flea-market-esque sign stapled to a telephone pole on the side of the road, it had the usual big arrow pointing down the nearby street. As I got closer, I noticed that it wasn’t for a tag-sale, it was for a PS3. Someone was selling what looked to be like quite the horde for what appeared to be four figures.
I have a problem with people who purchase these high-demand items and resell them for personal gain. Sure, free trade, capitalism, yay, congrats, I’ll argue for your right to do that till I’m blue in the face, but I personally draw the line at the degree of personal profit.
I’m sure the thought has crossed all of our minds, “Oh man I could make a few bucks this season by somehow picking up something that everyone wants and reselling it for a tidy profit.” It’s human nature, I would even dare to say. But thinking about it, doing it, and even making lots of cash off of it are different things.
Sure, people wouldn’t do it if it didn’t work. I recognize that there are people out there that, for whatever reason, want something so bad they are able (or at least willing) to go to great lengths to get what they want. Or, there are people who are much better off financially then I could ever imagine being, so paying a grand for [just] a console. There are, however, lots of people who want to enjoy a console this holiday season.
When I was growing up, it was Tickle Me Elmo. Two years ago around this time, people were clamoring over collectors editions of World of Warcraft, some of which sold for HUNDREDS of dollars. Now, it’s console war time, so here comes the next wave of exploitation.
In my humble opinion, keeping someone from playing a game by camping their spawn or their corpses for hours is one thing, but keeping them from playing by depriving them of an entire game system (regardless of what the system is worth; either 600$ power levels over nine thousand) is just mean. Anyone who does this and still tries to pass themselves off as a gamer needs to learn2play.
If everyone was as greedy as you greedy, selfish jerks, moments like this would be impossible:
Whew, now that got that off my chest and had a chance to think it out, I really only care if people are sitting on Wiis and trying to make money off of them. Anyone who wants a PS3 deserves it. Really for me it just comes down to picturing all the disappointed children, crying, on Christmas day, because Santa couldn’t afford the five grand to buy the console.
Then I think about it some more and realize those kids are probably too busy acting like this:

I SAID I WANTED MOUNTAIN DEW, NOW I WONT CHOCOLATE MILK!
YOU BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSE!
