So we had a few 3’s: Deus Ex 3, (with a side pit stop to gush about Shadowrun for Genesis), Fallout 3 - screenshots, a perk, omg it’s coming out. We cry about not being able to go to Blip Fest, Oizys gets the new New Nintendo zapper! Also he’s been playing the hell out of Final Fantasy XII for the DS.

Last night I was at Wumpskate and someone asked me for an EGR flyer. Turns out it was Cory of Neoramen and Xenocanon fame!

We talked a lot about old video games, TG-16, games with awesome sound, Arcade Infinity, and Herzog Zwei (ya!). I was a fan of Neoramen back when it was Pockybot - it’s always awesome to meet up with people from The Internets. At the same time, however, it’s a bit like… “what are you doing here in the real world?”

A friend of mine found this great article on MSN about Chiptune and “Overstimulated Sense” artwork (Pokemon Seizure Funtime). The video has a good beat and you can dance to it. The second picture in the article looks a bit like Atma Weapon from FFVI don’t you think? Also, page 6: “The GIF Show” - best idea for a gallery ever.

Awesome stuff; he distributed this music on NES carts, so you can play them in your Nintendos.

This looks awesome; it’s also a way way prototype, so it might not even look like this, and this song might not even show up in the final game. But if it’s anything like this, it’s awesome. Granted, stuff like this has been done before with Guitarfreaks/Drummania/Keyboardmania, but it’s all Japaneazy stuff, not stuff I know or recognize.

So Oizys and I stumbled upon a pretty awesome phenomena: people are sequencing songs in Mario Paint. I gave a good portion of my childhood to this game, be it making animations of genitalia flopping around, playing the fly swatting game, or making music. It’s always nice to know I’m not alone!

This guy made a few good ones, check them out.

Some peeps even went so far as to create a music tracker by itself; it allows up to 5 notes per beat, 4 times the song lengths, sharps and flats, volumes, and the ability to save unlimited amounts of songs. Mac only, unfortunately, but one can dream!

Kareoke, Machinima, and Cute Girls Singing! The Sims 2 has had some amazing marketing recently, and we took a walk along some complex adverhax. They are sponsoring an art show at some pretty significant art schools, as well as sponsoring a cool music contest. Lily Allen sings one of her songs in Simlish, they make a machinima out of it, and then sponsor a kareoke contest in which you can sing the Simlish song. It just ended yesterday, unfortunately, but you could have won tickets to see her, and even head out to EA to record a song in Simlish yourself! We also think the micropurchases for the Xbox Guitar Hero is too expensive, and that’s saying a lot because we like micropayments, when done well.
